My first radio was and old Sommerkamp something as .. 400  all with tubes about 500 watts but a great problem it liked to walk during the transmission... so I bought a great radio (about my opinion): TS830 by Kenwood that was my real first Radio (with capitol letter...hi !!).  I use it for abaout 2 years but I found a grat problem: the dxpediton become to work in split mode, and the 830 has only a vfo ond so was impossible to make split upper or down 5... the second vfo was impossible to found in all the word (but in this period the web was not jet arrived..) and so  I changed the ts830 with a TS440 Kenwood, the same name but the wrost radio thay I have had, the only good thing was the 2 vfos. But i wasn' t happy for the new radio, it was real set down....

And so I found a great occasion during an expo: a TS940 (again Kenwood, but I don' t maried it... hi ...) a favolous ham machine. I used 'him' for about 6 year and I made a lot of qso over 12.000.. in ssb, rtty and cw. Unforgetable of course.

But as all hams know some time is a good thing  listening on two frequencies in the same time... and so when I saw FT1000 I have had a folgoration.... I found a good used FT1000 and my love with kenwood finished. So with this new apparate I can work dx and dxpedition in shorter time as possible becouse now the time to spend in radio become little.... and during this time I like make experience with all new ham modes....

But as anyone know with the time is good upgrade the radio and so for 2003 Xmas I bought the new Yaesu FT1000 mp MKV, and so I hope to have done the maximum for my station, now is time to work in radio because the radio without operator isn' t able to make qso ( ... but I am not sure about the last sentence...and surfing on the web I had some ideas....)
